A wide and qualified network of suppliers
Metalsider2’s process starts with the careful selection of zinc scrap and zinc waste (such as skimmings, drosses), coming from hot-dip galvanizing and specialised zinc collectors. The company operates with a solid network of over 450 suppliers, 38% of which are dedicated to raw materials, distributed between Italy, European and non-European countries.
Quality, traceability and social responsibility
Procurement takes place according to criteria of quality, availability and price, but with increasing attention to environmental and social parameters. Metalsider2 implements a control system that also takes into account respect for workers’ rights, safety and sustainability in the supply chain.
A circular economy model
All recovered materials are given a new life in line with the principles of thecircular economy: nothing is waste, everything becomes a resource.

PROCESSING
The collected materials are processed in our plants. Scrap and zinc skimmings are shredded, ground and remelted in our furnaces, resulting in zinc with a minimum purity of 98.5 per cent

State-of-the-art technology and facilities
After recovery, the materials are processed in our highly specialised facilities. The scrap is shredded, the skimmings ground to obtain grain, and everything is then sent for melting. In our two main furnaces, zinc scrap and grain are remelted to produce 98.5 per cent min, in two formats: 25 kg/cad ingots and 700 kg jumbo.
Quality is guaranteed through the analysis of several samples for each production batch. These certificates accompany each batch sold.
Zero waste
The process is optimised to ensure maximum yield without generating waste for disposal: all treated material is recovered and returned to our production cycle or recovered from oxide or zinc salt producers

Every stage is monitored to ensure quality, traceability and environmental respect. Our plants are designed for high performance and minimal environmental impact.
PHASE 3
SALE
Our recycled zinc is mainly destined for companies involved in brass production and hot-dip galvanising of steel. Waste is also valorised, finding new life in the production of zinc oxide or zinc salts. Customers in Italy and worldwide
Metalsider2’s products – zinc ingots and jumbos – are mainly destined to hot-dip galvanising companies and brass producers. Our target market is Italy, which accounts for 70% of turnover and 52% of the quantity sold in tonnes.
Strategic Exports
In addition to the domestic market, Metalsider2 exports its zinc to industry-intensive countries such as Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands, consolidating its presence in European and non-European markets every year with efficient and reliable logistics.
Every waste has a value
Even processing waste is valued: instead of being disposed of, it is sold and sent for recovery. These are used for the production of zinc oxide or zinc salts for other production sectors. A sustainable sales model based on transparency and certified quality.
A complete service for hot-dip galvanising companies
Metalsider2, in addition to the production of secondary zinc, deals with the marketing of SHG and HG zinc.
Metalsider2 also deals with waste intermediation (e.g. zinc drosse), which it collects from hot-dip galvanising companies and resells to Zn oxide producers.
In doing so, our company offers a complete service for hot-dip galvanising companies: from the supply of raw material of different qualities to the recovery of their own waste.
